Remember This?
SA: Remember this?
This project started with a question. Locked at home during the pandemic days, Stella got out her scrap pile and started making stuff. The Rag Sisters, Stella and Linda have a long history of making stuff. As she sewed we emailed back and forth. the conversation went something like this.
SA: I have a couple of scraps of this. What did u make out of it?
LA: How could you forget this?
SA: I just can't remember.
SA: I just can't remember.
LA We cut this out at Laurel's house. I remember that there wasn’t enough fabric for the pattern (we always skimped to save money). Then you did some adjusting by turning pattern pieces against the grain…and suddenly everything fit. I remember being really impressed with your smartness at the time. I wore this to Lake Arrowhead…. where I met a tall, dashing fellow…. Who turned out to be, well a disappointment. Interesting how evocative a scrap can be.
